On February 12, Putin and Trump held telephone conversations and discussed Ukraine's settlements. Kremlin said that Trump talked about the diplomatic resolution of the crisis, and Putin supported the idea that it was time for Russia and the United States to work together.

Trump later said that next week in Saudi Arabia, the negotiations of senior Russian and American representatives will be held. According to Trump, Ukraine will also attend the meeting. It is known that after a conversation with Putin, the US president also talked to Zelensky.
